Tax advice – from the man down the pub

Do you believe or take action as recommended by “Dave” down the pub, often over a beer or three?

All sorts of misinformation have been passed on over the years – much of which is “dodgy” and some of which may be downright fraudulent, the consequences of which will come home to roost at some stage!

HMRC have huge resources at their fingertips – including a data analysis tool – “Connect” – which takes information from banks, the Land Registry, Credit card companies and many other sources, analyses this and cross matches data to identify suspicious businesses, individuals and transactions for further investigation.

Remember too that “Dave” is probably not qualified or experienced and carries no indemnity insurance when something goes wrong!

Please talk to us first – and especially before you undertake any transactions to avoid unnecessary tax bills arising.
